Peewee
AA Takes 2nd At Pittsburgh Preseason Challenge
The Allegheny Badger Peewee AA Team took
2nd place at the Pittsburgh Preseason Challenge Tournament presented by Advanced Tournaments
this past weekend.
The Badgers opened the tournament on Friday
with a 3 - 3 tie against the Haverford Hawks of Havertown, PA. The
team then came back strong with a 7 - 2 win in the next game against the
local Arctic Foxes. On Saturday afternoon, the Badgers lost 5 - 2 to
one of the top teams in Toronto, the Scarborough Young Bruins.
With 3 points in the standings, the Badgers
came to play early on Sunday against the cross-town Pittsburgh
Predators. After letting in the first goal 0:38 seconds into the game,
the Badgers put the pressure on and won 3 - 1 to secure their spot in the
championship game.
Sunday afternoon, the Badgers took to the
ice at the Airport Ice Arena to face the Scarborough Young Bruins one more
time. The team jumped out to a 2 - 0 lead and out-shot the Bruins 12 -
10. Unfortunately, the Bruins were not to be denied as they stormed
back, scoring 4 goals in the 2nd period to go on and win the Championship
Game 4 - 2.
It was a hard fought weekend for the team
and a great primer for the season to come.
CONGRATULATIONS
